iPad M1 Wi-Fi Connected but No Internet After iOS 26.3 Update - Fix

After updating my iPad M1 11-inch to iOS 26.3, I ran into a strange issue.

The iPad showed that it was connected to Wi-Fi, but there was no internet access.

Symptoms

  • Wi-Fi connected normally
  • Wi-Fi icon displayed correctly
  • Other devices could access the internet without any issues
  • Safari, App Store, and other apps could not connect to the internet

At first, I thought it was a router or network problem, but that was not the case.

Cause

The issue turned out to be surprisingly simple.

The date, time, or time zone on the iPad was incorrect.

After a system update, the time zone or system clock may become incorrect. When this happens, secure HTTPS connections can fail because certificate validation depends on the correct date and time.

As a result, Wi-Fi appears connected, but internet access does not work properly.

Solution

  1. Open Settings -> General -> Date & Time.
  2. Turn on Set Automatically.
  3. Make sure the Time Zone is set correctly for your location.
  4. If Set Automatically is already enabled, try turning it off and back on.
  5. Restart your iPad or reconnect to Wi-Fi.

Result

After correcting the date and time settings, the internet connection started working immediately.

If your iPad is connected to Wi-Fi but has no internet access, check the Date & Time settings before resetting network settings or restoring the device.

Final Thoughts

This issue can happen after an iOS update and is easy to overlook.

If you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Wi-Fi is connected but websites will not load
  • The App Store will not open
  • Safari cannot access the internet
  • Apps report network connection errors

Check your Date & Time settings first. It might save you a lot of troubleshooting time.
